How to Fix iPad Air 2 Red Screen and Automatic Root

We will fix an iPad Air 2 with the fault like this: it cannot be charged before replacing its USB management chip, after the problem is sloved and assembling it, we find that it gets into IOS and sometimes screen turns red and roots itself.

As the USB management chip was replaced before, we worry about that the USB management chip is damaged or the solder is worse, so here we replace the chip again. But the problem remains the same, which suggests that USB management chip is workable.

Next we use the smallest peripherals method to exclude the faulty places. Unplug all the connection cable from other peripherals to motherboard, such as camera, sensitization, as shown in the picture.

Put the single motherboard with display flex cable on electric tester. After unplugging all peripherals and testing many times, the problem remains the same, which suggests that the problem is unrelated with peripherals.

Judging from my repair experience, after excluding the peripherals problems, damaged NAND FLASH and pseudo soldering could cause iPad red screen.

Problems are sure to happen at CPU and NAND FLASH. Next, we have to think whether to fix CPU or replace NAND FLASH. Under the rule of taking the easiest the first, I replace the NAND FLASH. The motherboard without NAND FLASH is shown in the following picture.

But after soldering NAND FLASH again, the problem remains the same. Now the problem is left to CPU. Re-solder CPU and test. The problem disappear.

When assembling iPad, I find new dropping marks, so I guess that the iPad has been dropped, which causes CPU damage. When other maintenance man was tearing USB management chip, the motherboard was heated and the damaged CPU is pseudo soldering.

iPhone 6 Display Failure after Replacing LCD

The iPhone 6 display is black after replacing LCD. After checking, the diode data of display socket is normal and all power supply for iPhone display IC  output is normal. Testing by  DC power supply , we find the iPhone current is abnormal. When press the iPhone power button, the boot current is obviously large. The current reached 100mA when press the power button. After remove the display tube, the current still the same, which means there is a short circuit. Measure the voltage output of each circuit of power supply with Fluke 15B+ Digital Multimeter , then surprised to find that there are really short circuit places. LD010 is short circuit; we suspect that the filter capacitance on the circuit has been penetrated. After remove the iPhone power control IC , we found it is ground short circuit. Open the WUXINJI Dongle  to check the iPhone schematic circuit, we found that this circuit is the display card image transmission MIPI data bus power supply. CPU brea...

Solution: Why iPhone X Voltage Keeps Jumping

After getting the iPhone X motherboard to test, we observe the current value repeatedly jumps between 0mA and 50mA on DC power supply , and it is different from the normal booting current. Next, test whether the power supply of every circuit is normal. PP_VDD_MAIN is measured 4.2V; PP_VDD_BOOST measured is 4.2V. PP1V8-ALWAYS is 1.8V, all the values are normal. But when testing PP1V1_S2, PP0V8_SOC_FIXED_S1, PP1V8_S2 and other circuit voltage that output by power chip U2700 voltage are jumping constantly. According to previous experience, voltage jump is usually caused by a power supply circuit of U2700 output. Measured with digital multimeter , there is no short circuit was found for the dipole value of all power supply to ground. We repaired iPhone 7P before and know that if crystal oscillator is false welding can also cause voltage jumping, And if iPhone CPU  power supply is abnormal also can cause voltage jumping. Check the crystal oscillator we find no problem, then check th...

Solution: iPhone 6 Signal Has No Service

We are going to fix an iPhone 6 device today, the iPhone 6 signal keeps searching state after booting, there is no baseband in local setting, and no series number shows up when dialing *#06# serial number. We find the iPhone 6 LCD (has been replaced once, this kind of situation is preliminary determined for baseband CPU false welding, it is relatively common situation on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6P. Anyway we need to test first! From the simple start, measuring the single iPhone 6 motherboard  baseband power supply, first measure the main power supply 4.2V (C3221_RF). Then testing basebnd output voltage of power supply on C3262, C3252, C3259, C3256, if there is a voltage without first measuring resistance, if resistance is normal, then replace normal baseband power test; if four of them are simultaneously without resistance, then you need to reinstall the baseband CPU. There is a small glass tube base strip above the baseband power supply, it must be noticed when the main ...
