iPhone 6S Plus Charging Failure


Charging failure is a common problem in cell phone repairs, here we are going to talk about how to test and repair iPhone 6S Plus charging failure. iPhone 6S Plus charging failure, including the iPhone battery power percentage is getting less during the charging, power down status can be charged successfully but cannot charge after boot and unable to recognize USB, etc.


Check iPhone schematic diagram on WUXINJI Dongle, we found that the PP5V0_USB(5.0V) that was sent from the iPhone Tail Plug circuit, and then continue sent to the charging IC via the trailing plug interface, and then go through the charging protect tube, finally send it to iPhone USB control IC.

After disassemble the iPhone by phone opening tools, remove the iPhone motherboard, use Fluke 15B+Digital Multimeter to measure the 5.0V voltage (PP5V0_USB) next to the charging IC, and then measure the 5.0V voltage (PP5V0_USB) next to the USB control IC to check is it working properly.

If both these 5.0V is working properly, then you just need replace the iPhone charging IC and USB control IC.

If 5.0V(PP5V0_USB) next to charging IC exist, but 5.0V(PP5V0_USB) next to USB control IC doesn't exist, the iPhone power down status can be charged successfully but cannot charge after boot, or can't recognize USB. In order to fix this trouble, we can use hot air gun to short connect charge protection tube.

Moreover, damaged charging capacitor L2300 also will cause iPhone power percentage won't increase during the charging.

iPhone 6 Display Failure after Replacing LCD

The iPhone 6 display is black after replacing LCD. After checking, the diode data of display socket is normal and all power supply for iPhone display IC  output is normal. Solution: Why iPhone X Voltage Keeps Jumping

After getting the iPhone X motherboard to test, we observe the current value repeatedly jumps between 0mA and 50mA on DC power supply , and it is different from the normal booting current. Next, test whether the power supply of every circuit is normal. PP_VDD_MAIN is measured 4.2V; PP_VDD_BOOST measured is 4.2V. PP1V8-ALWAYS is 1.8V, all the values are normal.
