iPhone 7 Plus Won't Turn On After Water Damage

Water damage is unavoidable for most of cell phone owners, sometimes even if you are really careful, but the accident often happens, maybe you drop your cell phone into toilet, tank, cup, etc. It's very possible to happen like that. However, how to do if your iPhone 7 Plus drop into water and it's unable to turn on? In this article, you will get answer:

Disassemble the iPhone to check circuit board; there are no obvious traces of water. And then remove all sockets, no traces of corrosion were found on the socket and the socket interface.

Connect the iPhone 7P circuit board to DC power supply, supply power to it, it shows large current and won't boot.

Check the iPhone 7P circuit board and observe under the 7-45X Trinocular Stereo Microscope, we found that both the capacitor and the main supply capacitor on the bottom of the iPhone motherboard to backlight are corroded. According to our experience, for iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, we can first check the first row of capacitors on this circuit line, because we've repaired the several won't boot iPhone because of the large current caused by the capacitance.

Use PPD 861D Plus hot air rework station to remove C3530, the main power supply not short circuit now, and when we supply power to it, the iPhone can be turned on normally. However, there is no display after iPhone touch screen installation. After check it, we found that D3701 and D3702 have been corroded and blackened, directly replace it.

Re-install the iPhone and test it again, after insert the SIM card, the iPhone is always in the search signal, dialing *#06#, the IMEI can display normally, so we can eliminate the baseband problem.
Tear down iPhone again to check, we found a chip next to the amplifier was missing. After check iPhone schematic diagram on WUXINJI Dongle, it is FL7001_RF. Directly weld a jump wire on it, and then install iPhone to test, now the signal is normal.

iPhone 6 Display Failure after Replacing LCD

The iPhone 6 display is black after replacing LCD. After checking, the diode data of display socket is normal and all power supply for iPhone display IC  output is normal. Testing by  DC power supply , we find the iPhone current is abnormal. When press the iPhone power button, the boot current is obviously large. The current reached 100mA when press the power button. After remove the display tube, the current still the same, which means there is a short circuit. Measure the voltage output of each circuit of power supply with Fluke 15B+ Digital Multimeter , then surprised to find that there are really short circuit places. LD010 is short circuit; we suspect that the filter capacitance on the circuit has been penetrated. After remove the iPhone power control IC , we found it is ground short circuit. Open the WUXINJI Dongle  to check the iPhone schematic circuit, we found that this circuit is the display card image transmission MIPI data bus power supply. CPU brea...

Solution: Why iPhone X Voltage Keeps Jumping

After getting the iPhone X motherboard to test, we observe the current value repeatedly jumps between 0mA and 50mA on DC power supply , and it is different from the normal booting current. Next, test whether the power supply of every circuit is normal. PP_VDD_MAIN is measured 4.2V; PP_VDD_BOOST measured is 4.2V. PP1V8-ALWAYS is 1.8V, all the values are normal. But when testing PP1V1_S2, PP0V8_SOC_FIXED_S1, PP1V8_S2 and other circuit voltage that output by power chip U2700 voltage are jumping constantly. According to previous experience, voltage jump is usually caused by a power supply circuit of U2700 output. Measured with digital multimeter , there is no short circuit was found for the dipole value of all power supply to ground. We repaired iPhone 7P before and know that if crystal oscillator is false welding can also cause voltage jumping, And if iPhone CPU  power supply is abnormal also can cause voltage jumping. Check the crystal oscillator we find no problem, then check th...

Solution: iPhone 6 Signal Has No Service

We are going to fix an iPhone 6 device today, the iPhone 6 signal keeps searching state after booting, there is no baseband in local setting, and no series number shows up when dialing *#06# serial number. We find the iPhone 6 LCD (has been replaced once, this kind of situation is preliminary determined for baseband CPU false welding, it is relatively common situation on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6P. Anyway we need to test first! From the simple start, measuring the single iPhone 6 motherboard  baseband power supply, first measure the main power supply 4.2V (C3221_RF). Then testing basebnd output voltage of power supply on C3262, C3252, C3259, C3256, if there is a voltage without first measuring resistance, if resistance is normal, then replace normal baseband power test; if four of them are simultaneously without resistance, then you need to reinstall the baseband CPU. There is a small glass tube base strip above the baseband power supply, it must be noticed when the main ...
