How to Repair iPhone 6S SIM Card Identification Failure

We want to fix the iPhone 6S, the main failure is that it can't recognize SIM card. The first step after receiving the call is to remove and check carefully. Before the iPhone is repaired, the repaired area is the baseband power, and there's a lot of solder paste in it.

Use digital multimeter to measure the voltage of each pin of the socket at the moment of power-on, all the SIM-RST SIM-CLK SIM-DATA have instantaneous voltage, only SIM-VCC does not.

According to past repair experience, there are 2 problems in the power supply of SIM card:

1. baseband power supply;
2. capacitance resistance.

The baseband power supply has been repaired, without considering power supply. It should be a small capacitor or a small resistor problem.

By checking the WUXINJI circuit diagram, it is found that the small capacitance and the resistance are under the shield cover, carefully cut off a part of the shield, and observe the small capacitance under the Trinocular Stereo Microscope. It is found that the color of a small capacitor is a bit different, so we remove the damaged one.
Now, the power supply pin of the SIM card is measured again, the voltage is normal.

Reinstall the iPhone 6 and insert SIM cart to test, the card can be recognized, and other functions are also tested OK.

Summary: a lot of repairmen choose to replace parts, no more thorough understanding of the principle of the mobile phone, and they do not know how to find out after replacing a few IC, in fact, a lot of faults are in small capacitors and resistors or inductors.

iPhone 6 Display Failure after Replacing LCD

The iPhone 6 display is black after replacing LCD. After checking, the diode data of display socket is normal and all power supply for iPhone display IC  output is normal. Testing by  DC power supply , we find the iPhone current is abnormal. When press the iPhone power button, the boot current is obviously large. The current reached 100mA when press the power button. After remove the display tube, the current still the same, which means there is a short circuit. Measure the voltage output of each circuit of power supply with Fluke 15B+ Digital Multimeter , then surprised to find that there are really short circuit places. LD010 is short circuit; we suspect that the filter capacitance on the circuit has been penetrated. After remove the iPhone power control IC , we found it is ground short circuit. Open the WUXINJI Dongle  to check the iPhone schematic circuit, we found that this circuit is the display card image transmission MIPI data bus power supply. CPU brea...

Solution: Why iPhone X Voltage Keeps Jumping

After getting the iPhone X motherboard to test, we observe the current value repeatedly jumps between 0mA and 50mA on DC power supply , and it is different from the normal booting current. Next, test whether the power supply of every circuit is normal. PP_VDD_MAIN is measured 4.2V; PP_VDD_BOOST measured is 4.2V. PP1V8-ALWAYS is 1.8V, all the values are normal. But when testing PP1V1_S2, PP0V8_SOC_FIXED_S1, PP1V8_S2 and other circuit voltage that output by power chip U2700 voltage are jumping constantly. According to previous experience, voltage jump is usually caused by a power supply circuit of U2700 output. Measured with digital multimeter , there is no short circuit was found for the dipole value of all power supply to ground. We repaired iPhone 7P before and know that if crystal oscillator is false welding can also cause voltage jumping, And if iPhone CPU  power supply is abnormal also can cause voltage jumping. Check the crystal oscillator we find no problem, then check th...

Solution: iPhone 6 Signal Has No Service

We are going to fix an iPhone 6 device today, the iPhone 6 signal keeps searching state after booting, there is no baseband in local setting, and no series number shows up when dialing *#06# serial number. We find the iPhone 6 LCD (has been replaced once, this kind of situation is preliminary determined for baseband CPU false welding, it is relatively common situation on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6P. Anyway we need to test first! From the simple start, measuring the single iPhone 6 motherboard  baseband power supply, first measure the main power supply 4.2V (C3221_RF). Then testing basebnd output voltage of power supply on C3262, C3252, C3259, C3256, if there is a voltage without first measuring resistance, if resistance is normal, then replace normal baseband power test; if four of them are simultaneously without resistance, then you need to reinstall the baseband CPU. There is a small glass tube base strip above the baseband power supply, it must be noticed when the main ...
